[Case Study] Predictive Detection of Filter Replacement Using Dust Monitors

Install a dust monitor and monitor dust concentration in real-time! Predict the appropriate threshold for exhaust leaks!

There was a challenge of wanting to eliminate the risk of dust leakage from the dust collector's exhaust. In response, we calculated the predicted values during exhaust leakage by comparing exhaust concentration measurement values with relative values from the dust monitor. We implemented concentration display using a touch panel and recorded and saved the data obtained from the dust monitor. As a result, we were able to achieve alarm output segmentation through sequencer control and enable external transfer and recording of the acquired data, leading to a reduction in the risk of dust collector exhaust leakage. 【Case Study】 <Problems> ■ Complaints from nearby residents due to exhaust leakage from the outdoor dust collector ■ Desire to detect signs of dust collector exhaust leakage in advance <Benefits> ■ Reduction of dust collector exhaust leakage risk ■ Possible segmentation of alarm output through sequencer control ■ Capability for external transfer and recording of acquired data *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

[Proposal Document] "Dust Monitor" for Monitoring Minor Leaks from Dust Collectors

Proposal to secondary battery manufacturers: Prevent raw material loss from dust collectors!

Issue At a certain manufacturer's factory, due to installation errors and deterioration after the replacement of filter cloths in dust collectors, over 9 tons of raw materials were leaking from all the dust collectors every month without being recovered. This resulted in a loss of approximately 27 million yen per month for the company, and there is also the issue of air pollution. Just thinking about how much sales would be needed to generate such profits is a waste, isn't it? Therefore, the installation of dust monitors to continuously monitor the leakage amount was required.

Exhaust Gas Heating Type Dust Monitor 'QAL182WS'

Stable detection of particulate matter concentration in exhaust gas below the dew point with water droplets! Introducing a dust monitor with an exhaust gas heating method.

The QAL182WS is a dust monitor that enables the measurement of dust concentration in exhaust gas from wet desulfurization and wet dust collection equipment at "below dew point" levels. Exhaust gas containing water droplets below the dew point is suctioned from the duct due to the eductor effect. By vaporizing the water droplets in a vaporization chamber, the dust concentration is measured in a dry state. Dust measurement is conducted using a forward scattering method with high-resolution laser light. 【Specifications (Measurement Conditions)】 ■ Exhaust Gas Temperature: 80°C (MAX 200°C) ■ Measurement Range: 0 to 100 mg/m³ ■ Detection Resolution: 0.1 mg/m³ ■ Ambient Temperature: -20 to +50°C ■ Exhaust Gas Flow Rate: MAX 30 m/sec *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

PM2.5 Remote Dust Monitor

The ES-642 remote dust monitor is designed to accurately measure particle concentration (PM2.5) both indoors and outdoors.

The ES-642 remote dust monitor is an industrial air quality sensor designed to accurately measure particle concentration in both indoor and outdoor environments. The unit is housed in a waterproof case. The LCD display shows particle concentration, flow rate, equipment status, and power information. The electrical and optical systems are protected from condensation by a built-in heater that controls humidity, with the heater's power adjusted to maintain minimal humidity. The ES-642 employs a high-sensitivity forward-scattering laser nephelometer with a measurement range of 0 to 100 mg/m³ or 0 to 100,000 µg/m³ for particle concentration. An optional sharp-cut cyclone is used to set measurement levels. By adding the sharp-cut cyclone, it is possible to set particles smaller than PM10 or particles smaller than PM2.5 and PM1.0, providing monitoring for TSP (Total Suspended Particles).

[Case Study] Monitoring to Prevent Raw Material Loss in Secondary Battery Manufacturing Process

Reduce raw material loss in the manufacturing process of secondary battery cathode materials! Just focus on the secondary side of the dust collector!

In each stage of secondary battery manufacturing, dust collectors are installed to handle powders and recover materials that leak during work. If the dust collector is functioning properly, it can reliably collect materials without significant issues. However, if the filter deteriorates or wears out, a large amount of material can leak through the tears. This results in the inability to recover expensive materials, leading to significant losses. So, what measures can be taken? A dust monitor is installed on the secondary side of the dust collector (the atmospheric discharge side) to quickly detect raw materials leaking from deteriorated or worn filters, minimizing damage.

[Case Study] Dust Monitoring at Outdoor Air Intake of Data Center

Protecting IT equipment from external dust monitoring!

A data center is a dedicated facility for the centralized management and operation of a company's IT equipment and systems. In this instance, we will introduce a case where an air dust monitor was implemented to monitor dust at the outdoor air intake of a data center. <Background of Implementation> Data centers require vast areas of land and are often constructed in suburban areas away from urban centers. In these suburbs, agricultural burning may occur for land management, and dust generation due to volcanic eruptions is anticipated. As a result, dust may be generated and could potentially enter the facility through the data center's outdoor air intake. Such dust intrusion could adversely affect IT equipment, making it necessary to implement measures to prevent dust from entering the facility. For more details, please refer to the related link URL.

[Case Study] Monitoring Dust Leakage with a Dust Meter

Zero complaints from the region! Monitoring is possible even with resin piping!

Even if the duct material is made of resin, we will introduce a case where a dust monitor was installed to monitor leakage. <Challenges Before Implementation> 1) Due to inadequate management of the dust collector, dust leaked and complaints were received from nearby residents. 2) We wanted a sensor (dust monitor) that could detect even with resin piping. Therefore, we propose the dust monitor!! For more details, please refer to the related link URL.

[Case Study] Safety Measures in Thermal Spray Booths Using Dust Measurement Devices

Dust control measures for the thermal spray booth! What is the key to protecting the health of workers?

After performing thermal spraying in an unmanned booth, there is a need to determine whether personnel can enter based on the dust concentration. Here, we introduce a case where safety measures were implemented using a dust measurement device, the Air Dust Monitor. <Challenges Before Implementation> 1) The decision to allow entry was left to individual judgment, and there were concerns about health risks since entry was possible even during dust generation. 2) Entering the booth during film formation could lead to uneven thickness due to the incoming air, potentially resulting in quality defects. Therefore, we propose the Air Dust Monitor, which can monitor the dust conditions in the booth!! For more details, please refer to the related link URL.
